JJGo is nothing compared to UYD. I don’t listen to it really unless the boys are on it.

I did the same thing and left You Look Nice Today for UYD, even though it was kind of a cute podcast.

....Continuing to beat a dead tarp: I was listening to episode 15 of the podcast (recorded live at the UCB theatre)of WTF?withMarc Maron today and about 16 minutes in, guest Jesse Thorn references the UYD appearance and forum. And at another 27 minutes in, there’s another reference.

Yes. I nerded out and wrote down the times.

And yes, JJGO is what turned me on to UYD. I see the differences as mainly : JJGO is clever and precious whereas UYD is analytical & hilarious. UYD is what I look forward to weekly in podcasts, and the podcast forum that I’ve joined & the podcast tshirt that I’ve purchased.

haha… it was funny to hear Jesse mention the forum beef. I still feel pretty bad about being as harsh as I was (I said some things to him directly in pm’s that would be hard to take back). Jesse does a lot of good shit, in that he contributes mostly positive things to the universe. I’ve felt a little of what it’s like to have my work critiqued harshly by an unknown public, and it sucks. And, it must suck worse when the thing being judged is not a piece you’ve created or a character, but, like… YOU… your personality and shit.

Anyway… there are so many more people in the world to be justifiably mean to, I didn’t need to give it to Jesse so hard.

If I’m remembering the WTF with Marc Maron episode correctly, the only reason the episode &  forum were discussed was because the larger topic was podcasts and listener responses to them,etc.—- and the WTF episode wasn’t too long after UYD’s appearance on JJGo, so it all made sense in context. I wanted to share it in case anyone else on the forum wanted to check it out—not as a way to stir up more shit.

And I don’t think Furniture is wussing out at all. I listen to both UYD & JJGo & quite a few other comedyccentric podcasts. UYD is the one I look forward to the most—but that’s not the same as hating on the others. And Jesse does do a lot of positive things (including helping other podcasters). Hell, I wish I could go to the Maximum Fun Con: just seeing the roster of talented people that he’s able to bring together—and they’re enthusiastic participants—says a lot.

Turns out Jahnathan and Seth weren’t the only ones to have a fun time with “Jesse, Jordan, Go:”

There was a period during the interview where I began to read the titles of his CDs, one after the other. I honestly didn’t know what else to do. I had nothing to offer these people, and they didn’t give a shit anyway, and all the while a klaxon was sounding: “get out, get out, get out.”

Oh, and:

When the first leg of the book tour was concluded, I slept a full thirteen hours in a black sleep which was beyond dreaming. That’s how long it took for my skin to excrete our experience with Jesse Thorn, thereby returning my body to normal function.

I’m listening to this episode again while I wait for the ep218. Jordan and Jesse make me uncomfortable. Stop talking about power jams. Very condescending. I duno… I don’t want to just talk shit about JJgo but… this was my first exposure to it, and they were in my opinion.. kind of jerks. Oil and water.

Seems like Jesse isn’t even really talking about anything. Feels like listening to a recording of someone masturbating.

So strange, I was just listening to this ep as well. I’ve since listened to more JJGo shows and do enjoy them.

The UYD ep of JJGo was a horrible interview.

They should have been treated like Guests as opposed to as a Guest audience.
