I found this crazy picture of ‘Seth’ having an intimate sesh with Jeezo. It looks so much like Seth, felt I had to post it.
Christianity and Homosexuality

Documentary - Because the Bible Tells Me So

I was at a Bible study, and someone brought up that documentary and how it chipped away at mainstream Christianity’s understanding of what the Bible has to say about homosexuality using Biblical scholarship.

I haven’t watched the doc, but the discussion made me realize the following. The idea of a public, monogamous homosexual couple raising children is something really new. Throughout history homosexuality used to be something done on the “down low”. Meaning, a husband would have a wife or wives and kids and would sneak out of the house to go bang other dudes. Even when homosexual behavior and intercourse was more acceptable, it was usually in an adulterous context where one or both parties would go outside of a monogamous relationship to find satisfaction. The type of homosexuality that the writers of the Bible had in mind was this kind of adulterous, hedonistic sort.

The kind of God that I’d like to believe in would probably be happy with a monogamous, loving couple raising children whether or not they had the same set of genitals. The whole genital distinction is a bit arbitrary to me…this is going to get loopy now, but I don’t think the government should have anything to do with deciding who you can marry, and I also don’t think that Christians should care who the government thinks should be allowed to get married. What is so holy about legal American, heterosexual marriage as an institution when more than 50% of marriages end in divorce? What is holy about marriage when Kim can get married to Kris as entertainment for us and divorce him 3 months later? According to a lot of Christians, marriage is sacred as long as the people involved have different sets of genitals. I can’t believe that the kind of deity most Christians believe in would look at all of the heterosexual marriages in America and go, “Boom, just like I intended.”

I don’t have to reach a conclusion.

Christianity Episode 241 Yoganity

I was listening to Episode 241 and the part about the pastor who wanted Christians to stop doing yoga came up, and our hosts suggested that maybe if they could “Jesus” yoga up enough then it would be acceptable. It reminded me that maybe the mainstream isn’t as aware of the severe identity crisis that modern Christianity is in, but they are aware of how little modern Christians seem to be concerned with basing their identity off of doing Christ-like things. I remember when pokemon first got hot in the states and my church and other churches were using similar logic to say that children shouldn’t play pokemon or read harry potter. I think when Jesus said, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” he was probably seeing a future where people who claimed to be his followers were getting all cranked up about children’s toys and stories and people’s choice of fitness activities while neglecting to actually be like him in any way.

Stories like these about yoga, pokemon, harry potter, etc, give people the CORRECT impression that Christians seem more concerned with preserving the influence of Christian culture than actually doing Christ like things i.e. helping the helpless, giving hope to the hopeless, being a friend to the friendless, etc. I feel like most Christians with power in the church are more concerned about keeping their jobs and meeting their quotas than being obedient to what the Bible actually has Christ saying and encouraging others to do so. There’s churches that do make that their main goal, but for every church like that there are 100 more that just care that you don’t cuss or masturbate.

They see dwindling church attendance and think that they’re in a competition with yoga, harry potter, and whatever else, but don’t realize that they shouldn’t eve be playing the same game. It’s like “health food”. Like “secular things” would be like pizza, and then Christians would be telling people, you can’t have pizza, or if you have to have pizza, you should have this 0 fat, a million preservatives pizza, when instead, they should be making healthy sandwiches for people and not giving a fuck how many people buy into it. They should just be happy they’re making healthy sandwiches, but they’re so concerned with their perceived competition that they make fools of themselves and their faith.

This is stupid isn’t it.

In defense of Florida

I am sure I’ll regret doing this, but Burt Reynolds may be the best argument that Florida could make against mandatory aqua-dozer secession. Since it doesn’t seem that we as a (UYD) nation won’t be dropping the dead weight that is Florida anytime soon, we might as well rationalize keeping it around. What other contributions has Florida made that justify its statehood?

Hey does anybody else like these guys? I remember Jah’s lady said, “Those guys are funneehh.” when I tried to strike up small talk. I love those guys. Anybody?

Link favorite Tim and Eric stuff?

Favorite Cinco Products?
http://www.timanderic.com/cinco.html

perhaps I will post a poll at some point. Too busy using my Cinco C-Phone and D-pants.

PS. Main problem I have with any Cinco product is that I can’t use the Poop Tube AND my D-pants at the same time. But… given the function they serve I can’t be too mad.
